There are many different types of medical trolleys that your hospital will need on a regular basis. We'll describe here two categories of medical trolley carts: rolling carts suitable for the hospital setting, for the needs of hospital staff, and the mobile hospital carts for the needs of individual patients, either in the hospital setting or at home.

Medical trolley for use by staff in hospitals

Hospital carts or hospital trolleys: Hospital cart will enable staff to transport heavy equipment and supplies such as CDS packages, from one area to the other. They feature ergonomic handles and caster wheels. They can have low surfaces for easy placement of heavy shelves and packages or they can have wired meshes for simultaneous transport of several items.

Transfer carts: Medical transfer carts are used to flexibly hang, stack and store clothes and other miscellaneous items used by medical professionals or by the patients, and have them ready to relocate to a different location when needed. The carts will include four casters, and ample hanging area and standard size bins for storage. Another type of transfer carts are rolling storage carts, and hospital linen carts. Either kind will be used for bed linen storage and transfer, among other uses.

Medical records carts: Carts for medical records come in two main forms, one, usually smaller, is construced with a wire mesh and is used to transport smaller quantities of medical records. The other type comes usually in larger sizes and resembles wooden shelves on caster wheels. This second kind may feature covers and locks for secure storage of sensitive medical records.

Medical trolleys for individuals at hospitals and at home

Medical trolley: These are used for delivery of meals, breakfast, lunch or dinner, to individual patients, or for use for easy meal transportation at home from kitchen to the dining area.

Healthcare carts: They are commonly used as rollators in home settings for people who are hard of walking, for their daily trips to the grocery store and other places, where support for the additional weight of groceries or other items comes in handy.
